School on Wheels opened in Indy in 2001 to provide 1-on-1 tutoring to students impacted by homelessness. Over the past few years, they've accomplished an incredible amount in our community. Some highlights from their website:
- Provided tutoring to 4,600 school-aged homeless children
- Provided 59,00 hours of tutoring
- Distributed 2,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to homeless children
- Distributed 13,700 school uniform items to homeless children
School on Wheels is in need of some general office help during this busy time of year. This is a perfect opportunity to make a big difference with some of the less glamorous work that can be incredibly impactful. Come and learn a bit about SOW and lend a hand in the office.
NOTE: This group volunteer opportunity is limited to 10 people so get your registration in soon!
NOTE2: This is the 2nd Thursday of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament. Let's grab a beer at the BWs across the way AFTER the work. First round on Deploy!
